This listing is for a beautiful wooden statue hand carved with intricate detail of a scholar and his student. They are sitting on what appears to be a tree stump.

As one can see from the photographs, this piece is in very good condition especially for its age. Any cracks you might see are not handling damages. These are cracks that occurred naturally or during the process of hand carving. There are very few handling marks has some natural wood splitting please see pictures. The wood looks like solid rosewood but we can’t say for sure. The photographs taken do not depict the true beauty and craftsmanship of this art work.
